Kiyoshi Yamazaki Sensei, the son of a Kendo teacher, was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on August 16, 1940. His martial arts training began during his childhood days under his father. In 1956, he joined Konishi Sensei's Ryobu Kan. He received his first rteaching license for karate in 1962. In the same year he had extensive Kobudo training with Shugoro Nakazato, the current Grandmaster of Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu, in Okinawa. He attended Senshu university and joined the Shotokai organization there, under the instruction of Hironishi Motonobu, a student of Funakoshi Sensei. During his university days, Kiyoshi Yamazaki continued to train with Konishi sensei as often as possible. In 1964 Yamazaki Sensei obtained his degree for Economics form the Senshu University. Then he continued to train at the Ryobu Kan. During this time Yamazaki Sensei assist Konishi Sensei in demonstrations and seminars worldwide. In this occations Yamazaki Sensei met many prominent instructors of the martial arts, including Kokga Ryu Ninja 13th headmaster Seiko Fujita, Kobayashi Shorin Ryu master Chibana Chosin, and the heads of Nanban Sato Ryu, Mr.so and Mrs.Chin.

Yamazaki Sensei moved to the United States in 1969. He first started teaching at Citrus College in Azusa, California. He later opened a dojo in Aneheim, California.

Today in addition to teaching at his dojo in Aneheim, he maintains a very busy schedule promoting the Philosophy of Shindo Jinen Ryu (Katare-do Ryobu Kai) and supervising and developing all the schools of Japan Karate-Do Ryobu Kai outside Japan.

In addition to Karate and Kobudo, Yamazaki Sensei is an accomplished exponent of Iaido.

His expertise in the martial arts has attracted producers in Hollywood; he has served as a technical advisor, instructor, and even acted in several movies. His celebrity students include Arnold Schwarzeneger, Sting, Richard Hatch, Sandal Bergman, Wilt Chamberlain, Bridget Nelson, and Grace Jones. The most recent credit in the big screen is the movie "Dragon Heart".

Currently Sensei Yamazaki is a Chairman of the technical Commission in the World Karate Federation which is one of the highest official title some one can reach in the Karate world. and he travels the world assisting in the coordination of Karate as a future event in the Olympics.
" He is also a Chairman of the USA National Karate-do Federation's Technical committee.

Tassi - Kiyoshi Yamazaki - 8.Dan

Kyoshi Yamazaki, Sohn eines Kendo Lehrers, wurde am 16.8.1940 im District Chiba, Japan, geboren.
In seiner Kindheit begann sein Kampfkunsttraining unter seinem Vater.
1956 hatte er sich Sensei Konishi´s Ryobu-Kan angeschlossen.
1962 erhielt er seine Karatetrainerlizenz.
Im gleichen Jahr erhielt er ein sehr umfangreiches Okinawa Kobudo Training von Shugoro Nakazato, dem Großmeister von Kobayashi Shorin -Ryu in Okinawa.
Sensei Yamazaki besuchte die Senshu Universität und schloss sich dort der Shotokai Organisation an, die von Hironishi Motonobu, ein Schüler von Sensei Funakoshi, geleitet wurde. Während seiner Studienzeit, setzte er sein Training mit Sensei Yasuhiro Konishi, so oft wie es ihm möglich war, fort.
Nach seinem Universitätsabschluss in Wirtschaft im Jahre 1964, trainierte er wieder bei Konishi Sensei, Ryobu-Kan.
Da er sehr oft mit Sensei Konishi trainierte, erhielt er schließlich das Angebot, ihm bei Seminaren und Demonstrationen zu assistieren.
Während diesen Reisen, lernte Sensei Yamazaki prominente Kampfkünstler, wie z.B. Koga Ryu Ninja 13 Großmeister von Seiko Fujita, Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu Meister Chibana Chosin, und die Chief Instruktoren von Nanban Sato Ryu, Mr. So und Mr. Chin, kennen.
1969 ist Sensei Yamazaki in die USA gezogen.
Er unterrichtete im Citrus College in Azusa, Kalifornien.
Später eröffnete er ein Dojo in Anaheim, Kalifornien, und nahm an
Karatedemonstrationen mit Shihan Fumio Demura (Itosu-Kai Shitoryu und jetzt Gründer von Shitoryu Genbu Kai), teil.
Heute hat Sensei Yamazaki, zusätzlich zu seinem Training im Anaheim, ein sehr umfangreiches Aufgabengebiet, in dem er die Philosophie von Shindo Jinen Ryu unterstützt und alle Japan Karate-Do Ryobu Kai Dojos außerhalb Japans, betreut.
Sensei Yamazaki ist nicht nur in Karate und Kobudo, sondern auch in Iaido- in der Tradition von Omori Ryu und Kashima Shin- Ryu ein ausgezeichneter Experte.
Durch sein Fachwissen in den Kampfkünsten, wurde er technischer Berater bei Hollywoodfilmen und hat auch selbst bei einigen Filmen mitgespielt (z.B. Dragon Heart)
Zur Zeit ist Sensei Yamazaki Vorsitzender der technischen Kommission der WKF.
Ferner ist er Vorsitzender des techn. Ausschusses der National Karate-Do Federation, USA.
